One of the things that used to hold me back from making exercise and training a key part of my lifestyle was the belief that I didn’t have enough time. When I started training with JJ, he kept it simple and easy for me to follow and commit to – one training session a week later in the evening, boxing once a week and then as much as I could/wanted to after that in my own time. 

I wanted to get bigger, grow muscle, and become stronger and fitter. I didn’t want to be treated differently because of my size or gender and wanted to be lifting heavy weights. I knew I needed someone who would push me, call me out when I began to lose focus, wouldn’t let me get away with excuses, would help me push through the mental barriers and also knew when to stop and just make me laugh. 

The results I have seen in the last 6 months have been so incredible; I am constantly receiving comments from family, friends and work colleagues - for changes in both my appearance, attitude and general being. It even drove my older brother to convert his garage into a gym, I think he got a bit insecure that his younger sister had suddenly become the fit one of the family!

JJ has helped me to focus on the areas where I wanted to improve, on strength and specific muscle groups. The focus for the way he tailors our sessions assists me in the other exercise I do outside the gym.

I feel like I have so much more energy and JJ has given me helpful advice on nutrition and managing the other aspects of my lifestyle to contribute to my efforts in training.

I started seeing JJ 6 months before my wedding and one of my main targets was to loose 2 inches off my upper body so that my wedding dress would be more comfortable. Through targeted workouts this was achieved and I have maintained my routine.

JJ has a very calm approach to training which has been so helpful in creating an atmosphere where I can confidently achieve my goals.

I used to have a love hate relationship with the Gym, I wanted to get fit and healthy, toned and lose weight, but I despised the process.

Training with Jonathan and attending his classes changed all of that. He pushes me to work hard and achieve colossal results, without shouting or humiliation; using pure encouragement and motivation. His workouts are extremely fun, he uses awesome playlists to get you in the mood and you work your ass off without realising it! He also incorporates boxing in our sessions, so i get to kick ass which I absolutely love!

Knowing I am a foodie, Jonathan guided me to a healthy nutritious diet where I am still able to enjoy everything I eat. I am slimmer, look and feel more confident within my body, with my strength and fitness drastically improved.

My overall attitude to fitness has changed tremendously. JJ told me he would make me love working out...he is true to his word! Now I anticipate each session, class and welcome any form of fitness! He is a dedicated trainer and inspirational on all levels and I can’t recommend him enough!

Louise

As a white collar boxer, a lot of time in the gym is needed to improve my all round fitness. It is important that my strength, speed, stamina, conditioning, agility, flexibility, and boxing in general is up to a high standard in order to get into the ring confidently. JJ devised a training programme around my long days with cardio/HIIT training early in the morning (a great start to the day!) and an evening programme allowing me to focus on my strength and stamina. As I have progressed JJ has altered the programme to challenge me - which I love! Going to the gym twice a day can be draining, but the results are priceless and JJ made it fun and rewarding.

Although my training is very sport specific, being a young female, there's nothing better than feeling good in your own skin and body. I used to exercise on my own and refused to take advice from anyone, after a while I stopped seeing changes in my body - frustrating if you're in the gym everyday! Since training with JJ and following his tailored programme, my body has seen a lot of significant changes. 

I'm 5ft ft with a broad and sturdy physique, so choosing a dress without looking boisterous has always been very difficult and annoying, I have slimmed down but I’m still able to pack a punch! JJ has tailored my programme so I can see progression but not overloading myself. I feel so much more healthy and energetic than I have ever been!

Flexibility has always been my downfall so JJ has implemented a lot of stretching into my programme to minimise shin splints and muscle pain. I have seen a huge improvement in my flexibility which has improved my form throughout all my excercises, especially boxing. Another main focus in the gym was my lower body, JJ has coached me to squat up to 100kg and has continued to support me to lift heavier weights.

JJ has taught me to push myself physically, mentally and emotionally and watches your every move to correct and avoid injuries. He is patient, pays attention to aims and goals and always does his best to make you feel comfortable and at ease. JJ is incredibly passionate in what he does and his knowledge is priceless!

Rawshanara

I have a very busy job which involves extensive travelling, JJ is always flexible with training times which enables me to meet my goals. I began training when recovering from a health condition, doing this with JJ has helped me regain confidence and a more positive outlook. It is quite easy for me to fall back into bad habits due to my busy schedule but I am always pushed to stay on track and balance through training and proper nutrition.

My workouts are tailored and give me a full workout while focusing on certain areas. Training is always fun with JJ, we kick ass every session!

 

Harprit

JJ has managed to accommodate the sessions surrounding my work commitments which has been helpful as I work long shifts. He is also very flexible in terms of fitting in last minute sessions if needed and adjusting timings if so required. I have found this trait very complimentary to my schedule.

As a result of the training, I can positively say that I have much more energy in my day to day activities. I also sleep a lot better and my asthma has considerably improved. The training programme has also helped me to gain a positive outlook on life and in the workplace. I feel a lot more confident in myself, both physically and mentally.

I have set goals and with JJ's support, I have been able to achieve these. I completed a half marathon and now training for the Edinburgh marathon in 2018. I have toned up and built muscle which helps me to achieve these goals. JJ's support and encouragement has been invaluable in me achieving what I need to.

JJ is a genuine and decent person and as a result of our sessions together, we have become good friends. Although he is a serious trainer, we are able to have a laugh together. I find that's his dedication and focused outlook is very unique and he always has a 'can do' approach. He is very helpful and considerate towards his clients as well as people generally; I feel happy in completing my training with him.
